It's Summer Games Time

Special Olympics athletes from across the state are preparing to head to the University of Hawaiʻi for one of the biggest competitions of the year, the 49th Annual State Summer Games!
More than 1,200 local athletes and coaches have been preparing since February
to compete in powerlifting, softball, track and field, and swimming
at this year’s State Summer Games.

Athletes and coaches will parade into the Les Murakami Stadium
on Friday, June 2, 2017 for the State Summer Games Opening Ceremonies.
The Opening Ceremonies kick off the weekend of competitions
with a parade of athletes into the stadium, the entrance of nearly 1,000
First Hawaiian Bank Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Torch Runners, and the ceremonial lighting of the "Flame of Hope".
